Classroom Involvement

The Head Start program encourages all parents and guardians to participate in their children's educational experience through home visits as well as classroom visitation and involvement. As a parent or guardian, you are welcome to stop by any time to check in, observe, and/or participate by volunteering.

When you come into your child's classroom, here are some things you can expect:

  1. A cheerful welcome.
  2. An invitation to come in and observe or interact with the children.
  3. To be invited to eat a family-style meal with both children and teachers.
  4. To find a developmentally appropriate, clean, safe learning environment with stimulating and creative activities for all children.
  5. To see a "parent area" where you can go for information or to visit with other parents.

If you are interested in volunteering in your child's classroom on a regular basis, please contact your child's teacher.
